It really is the easiest cinnamon biscuit recipe ever.Bisquick sweet biscuits are drop biscuits, so there is no rolling or cutting out required.When we'd rather have from scratch, I enjoy making biscuit cinnamon rolls (easy cinnamon rolls) or this more traditional delicious cinnamon rolls recipe. ![]() So I kinda came up with my own version, using a regular Bisquick biscuit mix. We used to be able to purchase the actual Bisquick Cinnamon Biscuit mix, but our store doesn't carry it anymore. If you want icing, which I highly recommend, you'll need just a few more. Garnish with nutmeg.To make these cinnamon Bisquick biscuits all by themselves, you only need 4 ingredients. Add another scoop of warm peaches and top with chilled whipped cream. Spoon warm peaches over bottom of biscuit. Continue to cook over medium heat until brown sugar is completely dissolved and the sauce is bubbly. Add brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamon (optional) and a hefty squeeze of lemon juice. Saute diced peaches till they turn slightly golden around the edges. While biscuits are baking in a large skillet, over medium heat, melt 1/4 cup butter.Bake biscuits in preheated oven for 12 minutes or until lightly golden and double in size.Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top of each biscuit. In a small bowl combine 1 Tablespoon sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon until well blended. Brush the top of each biscuit with heavy cream.Place biscuits on prepared baking sheet about 1/2 inch apart. Gather the scraps and form a fifth biscuit. Flour biscuit cutter and cut out 4 biscuits. Pat into a large disc about 1 inch thick. Gently roll the dough around in the flour. Place dough onto well floured surface.Mix until just combined and a sticky ball forms. Cut shortening and butter into dry ingredients, with a pastry blender, until small pea size crumb forms.Line baking sheet with silicone baking mat or parchment paper. In a large bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.Add powder sugar, and a splash of vanilla. In a small bowl whip heavy cream until it becomes thick.In a medium bowl add 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 Tablespoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 Tablespoon sugar.Īdd 1 1/2 Tablespoon shortening and 1 1/2 Tablespoons softened butter. Preheat the oven to 395° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. You can double the recipe for additional shortcakes if needed. This recipe will make 4-5 shortbread biscuits. TIP: If you’re worried about the peaches browning before you can sauté them, place them in a bowl filled with water and 1 Tablespoon of lemon juice. This will allow you to fry the peaches while the biscuits are baking. Prepare 8 ripe, fresh peaches, by peeling and dicing them before making the sweet shortbread biscuits. Cover and place in the refrigerator to chill until ready to serve. (Come on, you can do it! Think of it as your cardio workout for the day!) Once thickened, add 2 Tablespoons powder sugar, and a splash of vanilla. In a small bowl add 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream. I do this first and let it chill while I prepare the biscuits and peaches. You can use “spray” whip cream…but if you’re going to go to the effort of making soft sweet biscuits ya may as well make a small bowl of homemade whipped cream. What resulted was honestly one of the BEST desserts I’ve ever had! The homemade buttermilk biscuits, with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar, melt in your mouth… and the fried warm peaches are AMAZING! I may have eaten two of these…just to make sure they were really as awesome as I thought they were! They are! (I’m here for you friends!) How To Make Fried Peaches and Biscuits Which is fine…but I knew I could kick it up a few notches…well at least I thought I could. The original recipe calls for frying the peaches in oil and using refrigerator biscuits. Then another friend I follow on Instagram made the same recipe! It was everywhere! I wanted to try my hand at making this dessert that was capturing social media! They say “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”! I sure hope so… because a couple of weeks ago I ran across a video on Facebook with Jennifer Garner copying a recipe from Tabitha Brown.
